Hmmm, Where can I get a $13 burger?

Now that Meghan has graduated to Magic Mountain, and all of it's glorious, pant wetting rides, we don't have to hear, "Can we go to Disneyland today?" over and over this summer. Mickey's charging $94 a ticket nowadays, that's $282 just to get through the front door, and get a chance to empty the rest of your wallet. Meghan aint gonna pass for 10, she didn't pass for 10 at 8. We had to carry around her birth certificate wherever we went. MM cost us a mere $26 each. Oh sure, you get to spend the day navigating your way through a sea of gang bangers, but it can be a thrill ride in itself. You have to protect your family as you go from ride to ride without making eye contact with tatted up Bloods and Crips. Oh, you may have to explain a lot of new curse words your daughter heard at the end of the day, but shit, you got $202 in your pocket!

With a stretch of days in a row to work, we decided to hang out today at Downtown Disney. I love DD. You can drive the 5, get off on Disney way, drive really slowly past Disneyland and see all of the rides you have been on 10 million times, you get to park in the lot, smell the tram diesel, smell the sunblock lathered tourists, and hear kid friendly Disney music. All for free. And no lines. You don't have to wait for an hour for a ride, just to curse the souls of the 'fastpassers' that cut right in front of you , when you were just about to get in to the temple of doom. Or wait for an hour for them to shoot the hippos, and they don't even shoot the hippos anymore! WTF?!

So what if a burger costs $13, there is animatronic gorillas and elephants, and it rains inside! So what if you just paid $12 for a margarita at the outdoor bar in the center, you can't even get booze behind Mickey's gates. Gets your Disney senses tingling, doesn't it?

DD, it's a lot like Disneyland.
